PESACO is a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization registered under the NGO Act N0. 24 of 2002 on 5th January 2021 and awarded a registration certificate No. 00NGO/R/1593. The organization is established mainly to advocate for law abiding society in Mainland Tanzania.

Our Areas of Operation
In order to fulfil its function, PESACO subcategorized its objectives in areas inter alia raising awareness about road safety to road users, cyber safety band security and enhance strategic research for prevention and reduction of crime. PESACO is established behind the justification that in the current modernized world, the functions of law enforcement can effectively be achieved and realized through public cooperation, legitimacy, and community acceptance. Also, the fact that the safety of the community requires promotion of a partnership-based and collaborative effort between the law enforcement institutions and the community.
Our Approach
PESACO is committed to promote the “community-based approach” which emphasize proactive enforcement of law that invest much in education and public awareness rather than reactive enforcement of law that is based on coercion and use of force. We believe that public awareness and cooperation would increase the efficiency in identifying, preventing and solving problems of crime and the fear of crime. In this way PESACO as a community organization is a vital benchmark toward crime prevention and reduction in Mainland Tanzania.
